The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a quality program managed by the American College of Surgeons (ACS), has granted accreditation status to the UConn Health Carole and RayNeag Comprehensive Cancer Centers. To achieve voluntary NAPBC accreditation, the Breast Center demonstrates compliance with NAPBC standards that address the center’s leadership, clinical services, research, community engagement, professional education, and patient quality improvement. .. Breast centers seeking NAPBC certification receive on-site visits every three years.
As a NAPBC accredited center, the UConn Health Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center is committed to maintaining an outstanding level in providing comprehensive, patient-centric, interdisciplinary care that provides quality care for patients with breast disease. .. Patients can be confident that their breast care team will include medical professionals from different disciplines working to work together to provide the best care available throughout the course of treatment. Patients treated at the NAPBC Accreditation Center also have access to information on patient-centric services such as clinical trials, new treatment options, genetic counseling, psychosocial support, rehabilitation services, and survival care.
