Apple self-service repairs are now available
Genuine Apple parts and tools are now available for purchase by US customers
Cupertino, California Apple today announced that self-service repairs will be available and will provide repair manuals and genuine Apple parts and tools through the Apple Self-Service Repair Store. Self-service repairs are available in the United States and will be expanded to additional countries, including Europe, later this year.
The new online store offers more than 200 individual parts and tools, and customers who have experienced the complexity of electrical device repairs have completed the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 lineup of displays, batteries, and iPhone SE (3rd generation) repairs. Over the last three years, Apple has nearly doubled the number of service locations with access to genuine Apple parts, tools, and training, including more than 3,000 independent repair providers. A global network of over 5,000 Apple Certified Service Providers supports over 100,000 active technicians. As a result, in the United States, eight out of ten Apple customers are within 20 minutes of an authorized service provider.
Also today, Apple published a paper entitled “Safe, Reliable, Secure Service and Increased Access to Repairs.” This paper details Apple’s approach to designing long-lasting products and increasing access to repairs.
