The saying that history has a way to repeat itself applies to Pelican’s hopes. After finishing their first playoff season since 2018, the team hopes to lay the groundwork for the success and foundation of this season’s greatness.
History shows that Pelicans look forward to greater success next season. Willie Green is at the forefront of this, and in his first year he survived a tough season with many obstacles.
Green is a new head coach for the team that has hired a third head coach for many years. Pelican star Zion Williamson injured his right leg during off-season training. His injury required surgery and eventually missed the entire season. The team will start 3-16 years with the team’s looks on the way to the next terrifying season. However, Green remained credible and he continued to believe in the team until things improved to compete in the Play-in Tournament. Pelican won two playoff games in a row, giving defending Western Conference Champion Phoenix Suns everything he could handle in six games.
It was an achievement that the green coach won the pelican. The NBA has 34 new head coaches who have coached the full season in the last 10 seasons. Excluding this season, only nine of the 34 players played off in coaching during the rookie season. Good news for Green?

Eight of the nine played off next season, most of them crossing their mark. Only Charlotte Hornets’ Steve Clifford was unable to reach the playoffs for the next season after having made the playoffs before. It also helps to position the organization.
The team welcomes Zion Williamson as he appears to be perfectly healthy from a leg injury. Pair him with Brandon Ingram’s up-and-coming great man and veteran CJ McCollum to create the league’s three best monsters. There are also young newcomers to Herb Jones, Trey Murphy III, and Jose Alvarado. These newcomers will only get better in the second season when they become more confident in their knowledge of the game and the NBA. If the rich don’t get rich, Pelican was named 8th in this year’s NBA Draft in favor of the Los Angeles Lakers. There are endless possibilities as Pelicans can move down to collect more assets or select top 10 talents to further strengthen their roster.
Although success in the NBA is not guaranteed, Willie Green’s foundation for this organization seems to be a higher level blueprint. The fan base is eagerly awaiting more years of potential greatness towards this. You can’t move on until you look back. If history repeats itself, Pelican fans are looking forward to the winning team.
