Liverpool have completed Fabio Carvalho’s signature from Fulham after first missing the winger on the January deadline.
Carvalho’s current contract expires this summer, and Fulham is entitled to compensation set by the court if a teenager joins another British side at the end, but only a few clubs on the continent. You only have to pay a reasonable fee.
The 19-year-old will move to Anfield on July 1st with a five-year contract.
Carvalho has already been treated with Fulham’s permission prior to the transfer confirming Liverpool will pay Fulham £ 5m and an add-on.
Liverpool’s move to Carvalho in January failed after the Premier League had no time to close the deal on the deadline.
Jurgen Klopp’s team signed with Carvalho and lent him to Fulham for the rest of the season, but he remained unsigned with the championship leaders anyway.
Carvalho played 38 games against Marco Silva’s team this season, scoring 11 goals and found the net in February’s 4-1 FA Cup defeat to Manchester City in Fulham.
In 2021, Liverpool was ordered to pay a record fee to 16-year-old Fulham after Harvey Elliott moved to the club in 2019. If the add-on terms are met, Fulham will receive a £ 4m fee. He also inserted a substantive sale clause, which is understood to be 20%.
Analysis: Fulham’s nova has long been destined for the top
Sky Sports Nick Wright:
“For Fabio Carvalho, the January deadline turmoil that Liverpool failed to sign him from Fulham before the 11 pm deadline was nothing new. He is only 19 years old, but the largest in the country. Club is vying for him. Signed for years.
“Long before illuminating the championship with Fulham, Carvalho was interested in Greg Kratwell, founder and chairman of England’s first club, Balham FC, on the 3G pitch and concrete courts in southern London.” Circus. Was causing what was expressed.
“Manchester United met him by skipping a representative from Manchester. Chelsea took him on a tour of Cobham headquarters. He also met with Arsenal and, of course, Liverpool.” All clubs are in the sun. “It’s in,” says Kratwell. Sky sports While laughing.
According to Kratwell, “Carvalho could go anywhere,” but he and his family, who moved from Lisbon to London just a few years ago, supported moving to Fulham in 2015. And turned down more authoritative suitors. It is no exaggeration to say that the decision was rewarded. “
